OUTFIT: Impulse

Who is guilty of impulse buying?

ME!

Not a very good habit, I must say (though, it's really not that bad. Teehee).
I am not the type who will go around all stores, comparing notes or prices at that,
then go back to the store where you initially fell in love with an item.

LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT.
BUY AT FIRST LOVE.

That's my motto. LOL.
Yes, I guess I can say I am an impulsive buyer.
I buy stuffs that I find cute, even if I have no decent use for it.

Like this dress, for example.

It has been with me for three years ago and I used it only now.

I bought it because of its sexy back (even if my back is far from sexy!)

But I will challenge myself from now on.
I will be more prudent on my purchases.

Can I do it?
Haha.

OUTFIT: Amaya

Simone dress || SEPA earrings || Boracay market necklace and woven floppy hat

My good friend, Francis, aptly called my necklace Amaya. Yes, the teleserye (TV series) in GMA. I haven't seen the show, but I have a pretty good idea on what the plot is all about. Thanks to a special reenactment. Lol.

This, by the way, is my very first maxi dress. I consciously stayed away from maxis as I felt it was quite a risky outfit considering my height. What drove me to buy this was the colors. Simply irresistible! I also loved the way the dress flows. The beach just made the whole get up perfect.

OUTFIT: Electric (blue) Dreams

Familiar with that 80's music?

Well, it has nothing to do with my post. Haha.
But with the color electric blue.
It is no secret that I am biased to the color blue.
I'm a true BLUE lover.

I remember when I was in high school, I painted my room blue.
(Yes, I did most of the painting myself)

When the paint started to peel off years later,
a repainting was in order as we were doing major renovations in
the house.
I wanted to veer away from blue and befriend the other colors
as well. After trips to the hardware store and looking (and comparing)
numerous color palettes, I finally ended up with---

BLUE!!!

How predictable right? Haha.

While choosing a paint color proved to be no-brainer for me,
selecting and creating an ensemble around my electric blue leggings
was surprisingly difficult. I bought the leggings precisely because of the
color. Little did I know that it will stay for months in my closet.
I didn't like the fit because it was not flattering in the hips area.

But,

thanks to the numerous fashion blogs, I finally found the inspiration and
courage to work on an outfit with my electric blue leggings.

My inspiration?

Chiara of The Blonde Salad.

So here's how I pulled it off:

Top: C2 || Leggings: SM Dept || Necklace: SEPA

OUTFIT: Fiery Red

When I don't have scheduled hearings, I forego the all-out corporate attire.
I don't feel most comfortable covered in a suit or blazer.
You will see me either in printed skirts or in a dress like this.

Is that a baby bump?
I WISH.
Haha.
But it's just fats. Lol.

diy: garterized shoulder details

Day 9
{Ok, so i failed to keep up with my 30-day challenge.
had an exhausting day, cleaning up and
re-arranging stuffs in our newly-renovated office.
I'm only human. Lol. Justifications.}

Anyway, I will make it up by making 2 posts tonight.

First up, another DIY. Actually, it's not a DIY in every sense of the word.
I have clothes that I find too plain, not flattering, and simply boring.

What I do?

Edit. Modify. Enhance.
(Haha. This sounds like Adobe Photoshop.)

Re-work. Re-create. Alter.
(Sounds better.)

Remember the boyfriend-shirt that was 'donated' to me by my brother? No? Click HERE.
They are still too big for me. Especially on the shoulder part.
I can't alter it to the length that it should be for sheer lack of sewing skills,
However, I thought of another innovative way.
(insert light-bulb-moment here. haha)

{drumroll please...}

Ta-da! GARTER!

Pictures are the best way to illustrate. So here you go:

(1) Measure the shoulder length.
(2) However, do not use such measurement for the garter.
The garter must be a little shorter than your shoulder length.
Trust me, it will yield a better result.
(3) Pin one end of the garter just above the end of the collar line.
(4) Pin the other end of the garter a little over the edge of the
shoulder drop of the shirt. Again, trust me, you will like the results.

Then start sewing. You have to used the sewing machine.
Doing it by hand will take you 48 years. Lol. Stretch the garter as much as you can.

Here's the finished product:

Last night, Color Me Badd and All-4-One had a concert at Waterfront Cebu.
It was raining very hard. I want to wear something that will keep me warm
and at the same time, comfortable.

So I decided to wear this "re-worked" boyfriend shirt.

OUTFIT: Stripes & Gold

Day 7:

Remember the skirt that tweaked by changing the buttons? If not, click HERE.

I wore it to VECO TMC's Installation of Officers last week.
Their theme was STRIPES FEVER.

Just a very quick post. Deadlines. :((

sepa's great anniversary sale

Day 6:

I am a sucker for sales and bazaars. Throw in deal vouchers, too!
When it comes to clothes and accessories, my formula is:
QUALITY < QUANTITY

For shoes and bags, quality prevails because for the life of me,
my shoes don't last long. Scratches can already be
seen on the heel part after the 3rd or 4th use.
(I don't know why. Must be with the way I walk)

Anyway, when I saw on FB that SEPA is having its great anniversary sale,
I made no further delays.

I am so happy with my buys. And I am happier that I got to meet
the designer/owner of SEPA-- Diane. She's very warm and friendly.
Too bad I forgot to take a picture of her shop.
It's accessories heaven there!!!

Thanks Diane.

SEPA is located at:
25 Visitacion St. Osmena Blvd.,
Cebu City

You check its multiply account HERE.

OUTFIT: Babydoll

Day 3 of my 30-day challenge:

My mother would always tell me to dress appropriately for my age (I'm nearing the 30th mark)
and now, for my profession (I'm a liar, este a lawyer, though people find it hard to believe that because
of my petite frame). Well anyway, much as I dress accordingly to courtroom standards, there are days
that I want to dress playfully and add to that, youthfully. Nyahaha.

During the 4-day long weekend, we just stayed at home since our car was admitted to the
car hospital (cute term ey? lol), save for the last day where we decided to avail of our
SM Cinema complimentary tickets. On how we got those? Let's just say our "combined"
legal and arguing skills got into play.

It's raining cats and dogs today here in Cebu.
Otherwise, our jogging plans will be put off
(again) to another day. Bad weather. Haha.

How's the weather in your place?

OUTFIT: Animal Print + Mustard

Lately, I've been attracted to animal prints. I find it sexy and flattering.
Would you believe that the skirt I wore here is more than 10 years old?
I bought it when in Hongkong. Though I never got to appreciate
it until recently. I don't like wearing it before for fear that I will tear the
sheer material away. Good thing I didn't decide to throw it away.
You might wonder why it still fits me after 10 years when there's a considerable
difference with my weight then and now. The secret? It's garterized! Haha.

I love the lace detail!

TGIF! The weekend beckons!
What to do?

Sepa

I was never fond of wearing earrings because my ears get easily irritated, whether it's genuine or just fashion earrings. But because of my profession (and yes, age), I guess I have to dress up appropriately. And that would necessarily have to include accessories such as earrings. I always don the fresh water pearls that my parents gave me on my birthday. Lately, I tried wearing my other earrings. Last weekend, I had the chance to visit a popular fashion jewelry designer since I was within the vicinity of her shop. And I could not resist buying these two pairs since I got them on a very good price. It is wise to buy in her shop because there are items that are on sale. I'll definitely visit her shop again if I have the time (and extra moolah)!
